The Time Machine: A review
Hello. I'm Samuel and this is my review on the Time Machine by H.G wells.
I remember first reading the time machine four or five years ago, when my dad had bought it and brought it home for me. I remember not being a big fan of reading at the time, but after reading the first pages of the book, I was invested and short days after finished the book.
During the first weeks of the blog cycle, I found the book sitting in my shelf, so after many years, I decided to read the book again to see what kept me so interested.
The book is set in the year 1895, in London, the main character being, well... The time traveler. A very famous inventor who has just finished working on his greatest invention, the time machine. He calls many of his friends to see his new time machine. After their visit, he decides to test the machine for the first time, being met with a success, having travelled four hours ahead. He pulls the lever again, being taken to the year 802,701. He meets people who would guide and show him around. After, he returns back to London and tells his discoveries, and that the machine worked.
Reading the book brought back many memories. The book was a short read, so finishing it quickly was unexpected for me. Rereading it refreshed a lot of the things I didn't remember from the book, and I also understood many more things I didn't understand when I was younger, not only because I've learned to read better, but my English has improved. Overall, the book was short and straightforward. It was an enjoyable read that brought back many memories from my childhood. I highly recommend this book.
Thanks for reading!
